What to Expect
Who are we?
Suited For Success is a non-profit organization serving the OKC area that provides interview-quality, professional business clothing, business casual clothing, wardrobe essentials and personal hygiene products at no charge to women in need. Suited for Success relies on private donations and volunteerism to drive our mission of helping women achieve economic self-sufficiency.
How does a Suiting Appointment work?
Our Suiting Appointments are usually one client at a time, by appointment only. They are typically one hour, Wednesdays between 3 and 6pm. We can schedule groups or other times if needed. If transportation support is needed, we can help make complimentary arrangements. Referral Partner colleagues may accompany the clients if desired.
How do you connect with us?
Call us at (405) 521-1089. Leave a message if we don't answer, we'll get back with you! We may ask for your clothing and shoe size, the type of job, and we will schedule the appointment from there. The Referral Partner or the client can call us, either works.
Where are we located?
We are located in the OECU building on NW 23rd Street, between Rockwell and Council. It's a 6 story black building that says OECU on the side. You will enter the building from the west entrance. You’ll wait in the lobby and we will meet you there. The Suited for Success offices are on the 2nd floor, and we will escort the clients upstairs after they arrive. It's a secure building, there is no access past the lobby without a badge. When the Suiting begins we will ask each client to fill out an information form, and we will ask for an optional picture release to use in our Social Media, newsletter, and website. If the client is comfortable and signed the photo release, during the Suiting we like to take pictures of the client in their new outfits, and after the Suiting we would love to get a testimonial for use on Social Media and our website.
We are volunteer run so it’s important to be at your scheduled appointment. We prefer no men at the appointment.
How to Begin
Suited For Success is staffed by trained volunteers. Clients are scheduled by appointment only. Once your program has become a Community Partner with Suited for Success, appointments can be scheduled by calling (405) 521-1089. We usually have one hour appointments on Wednesdays between 3 and 6pm. We will discuss the needs and sizes of your client and confirm an appointment date. If we are unavailable when you call, please leave your name, the name of your program, and telephone number. A representative of Suited for Success will return your call as soon as possible.
As a Community Partner with Suited For Success, you will receive the Client Referral--Initial Appointment and Client Referral--Second Appointment forms. After scheduling an appointment for your client with Suited for Success, complete the information on the Appointment forms.
Review both forms with your client before signing. Sign the forms and fax them to (405) 948-0272. Please emphasize the importance of keeping the scheduled appointment and being on time. If there is a need to cancel an appointment call Suited for Success at (405) 521-1089 and leave a message preferably 24 hours before the appointment.
A notified cancellation allows a rescheduling of your client's appointment. A client will only be able to reschedule once.
What can the client expect on the day of the appointment?
Because our space is limited and individual attention is given during each appointment, the client should come alone. Upon arrival, our trained volunteer will treat the client to a boutique-style experience, suggesting professional clothing choices and offering expertise on proper size and fit. Two full outfits (depending on size availability) are provided, along with coordinating accessories, shoes, bag, undergarments, and unopened makeup and toiletries. After the client has obtained employment, she may return for a second visit and choose additional pieces that will give her the extra boost in confidence to make a great impression on the job.
After the appointment, we will follow up with our Community Partner and client to ask for an evaluation of our service and learn about the client's success in securing employment. This information is required by our underwriters and is the basis for funding needed to continue our efforts at Suited for Success. We are looking forward to working with you and welcome your questions and comments!
